DHAKA: Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ General Manager (Public Relations) Khan Mohammad Mosharraf has been removed from his post.
The government removed the national carrier high official following recent media reports on involvement of Biman officials in gold smuggling, said sources.
Though Mosharraf sent rejoinders protesting the reports about gold scandals of Palash, the ‘godson’ of Biman Chairman Air Marshal (retd) Jamal Uddin Ahmed, but the authorities said he failed to take necessary steps when several negative news were being published involving Biman.
The national carrier GM (PR) was also criticized for arranging inaugural program expending Tk 2 crore for two new Biman flight – ‘Ranga Provat’ and ‘Akash Pradip’ – without any tender.
Nevertheless, there are also a lot of allegations against Khan Mohammad Mosharraf, said sources. The complaints are under investigation.
