BAGERHAT: A tourist ship MV Saidul was capsized into Shela river in Harintana area under Chandpai Forest Station range in the East Sundarbans early Monday.

However, none was reportedly injured or went missing in the incident as there was no tourist in the vessel.

Forest official source said the vessel was heading towards Khulna to pick up tourists. At one stage the ship hit a hidden shoal, leaving the surface of the ship broken.

The vessel was capsized into the river immediately after the accident. The sailor and other staff managed to swim to the bank.

On information, a rescue team rushed to the spot to rescue the ship.

Sundarbans east zone divisional forest officer (DFO) Amir Hossain Choudhury confirmed the matter to banglanews.
