DHAKA: Police recovered the hanging body of a youth from a hotel in Fakirapool area of the city on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Omar Faruk, 32, son of Maulana Delwar Hossain of Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district. Omar resided at Ikuria area of Keranignj of the city.

Motijheel Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Helal Uddin told banglanews that police recovered the hanging body, tied with rope from ceiling fan, breaking the door of room no 103 of Rowshan Hotel in the area around 7:00pm.

Police also recovered a note there that stated “I sacrificed myself deliberately and consciously, none is responsible for my death”.

Police said Omar rented the hotel room on Wednesday.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for autopsy, the SI added.
