KOLKATA: A team of Bangladesh’s security agency National Security Intelligence (NSI) interrogated the accused of the October 2 blast in Burdwan on Friday.
The team conducted the interrogation at its makeshift office at Salt Lake in Indian state of West Bengal. Upon arrival on Thursday, the team began quizzing and continued till 12:00am Friday local time.
They quizzed the suspects including Sajid, Amena and Razia to find out the alleged connection between the guilty and the banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), sources told banglanews.
This is the second time that the Bangladeshi intelligence officials grilled them, sources added.
The team includes NSI director colonel Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) joint commissioner Monirul Islam, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) intelligence unit director colonel Abul Kalam Azad, Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) Atiqur Rahman and Police’s Special Branch (SB) additional deputy inspector general (DIG) Abdul Aziz.
However, the team is also expected to visit the site of explosion.
The visit comes after NIA officials recently visited Dhaka earlier this month and shared information about the blast.
