KISHOREGANJ: A district court on Friday sent war crimes accused Shamsuddin Ahmed to Kishoreganj jail.

District Senior Judicial Magistrate SM Razibul Hasan passed the order around 12:00pm.

Earlier on Thursday, Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested ‘Razakar’ Shamsuddin from Nandail upazila of the district.

Shamsuddin was taken to district Sadar Thana where he would go under interrogation.

District Superintendent of Police Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On Wednesday, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 issued arrest warrants against the suspected war criminals Nasir Uddin Ahmed, 62, a former army officer and his brother Shamsuddin, 60, a member of Kishoreganj Bar Association.

Nasir went into hiding since investigation into the war crimes began, according to the ICT’s Investigation Agency that deals with war crimes probes.
