DHAKA: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Friday urged the authorities of private hospitals to reduce charges for their service.
He came up with the call in a program entitled “Dhaka head and neck cancer conference” in city’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel.
Addressing the authorities of the private hospitals, Nasim said that you should come forward to help the poor and helpless people, children and freedom fighters.
Pointing the rich people, he also said that the wealthy people should establish cancer-healing hospitals in the country. Government will support them, he added.
The minister also mentioned that cancer-healing tools have already been introduced in many hospitals of the city.
The government has planed to set up a cancer unit in several hospitals.
Presided over by Professor Dr Kamruzzaman Choudhury, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Pran Gopal Datta also spoke.
