Pankaj Saran mourns Zaglul’s death

DHAKA: Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran on Sunday expressed deep shock over the tragic and untimely demise of senior journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury in a road accident.

“This has dealt a cruel blow to Bangladesh’s media fraternity and to one of its preeminent figures,” he said in a condolence massage.

Saran said, “Zaglul had a long association with India. His reporting and writings on India displayed not only intimate knowledge but also passion and empathy.”

He added: “His contribution to journalism and his qualities as a human being will remain alive forever.” 

The Indian High Commissioner conveyed his personal condolences to the family members and his large number of friends and admirers. 

In this hour of grief, he also joined so many others in praying for peace to the departed soul.
