DHAKA:  A youth was killed and another one injured in a clash between two groups of people centering a cricket match at South Keraniganj on Saturday noon.

The deceased was identified as Masud Rana, 18,

South Keraniganj Officer-in Charge Jamal Uddin Mir confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Quoting locals, he said that two groups of people locked into a fierce clash over a cricket match at Mokarrompara Balur Math around 12:00 noon that left two persons injured.

Later, Masud Rana succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital while another injured, a teenage boy, is undergoing treatment at Mitford Hospital in the city.

Police forces are looking into the matter, the OC added.
