DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday enjoined Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police to submit probe reports over two cases filed over Rana Plaza collapse on February 1.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of Dhaka Kazi Shahidul Islam passed the order as the investigation officer (IO) of the cases Assistant Superintendent of CID Police Bijoy Krishna Kar failed to submit the probe reports on December 24.

On April 25 of 2013, two separate cases were filed following the collapse of Rana Plaza that killed at least 1,135 people and maimed scores on April 24.

Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) official Helal Uddin filed a case against 13 for not following the Building Code while construction.

The other case was filed by Sub-Inspector of Savar Thana Wali Ashraf against 21 people, including building owner Sohel Rana and his father Abdul Khaleque, and the owners of five garments housed in the nine-storey building.
