LALMONIRHAT: Locomotive Master (LM), Assistant Locomotive Master (ALM) and the guard of a Lalmonirhat-bound train were suspended on Wednesday for their involvement in selling oil from the engine of the train stealthily.
The accused are Guard of the train Moinul Haque, LM Rashedul Islam Manik and ALM Abdul Malek.
The passengers of the train said that three crews of the train were caught red handed by one of the passengers, a college student, while they were selling oil to a syndicate at Kakina Railway Station on Tuesday.
The three crews and the syndicate beat the passenger while he was trying to capture the scene through mobile phone.
Later, other passengers of the train came to know the matter and confined the LM, ALM and the Guard at the next station (Hatibandha) and demanded their arrest.
Sequentially, Lalmonirhat Divisional Railway Transport Officer Mostafizur Rahman assured that legal actions would be taken against the accused.
Later, an investigation committee was formed in this regard and LM, ALM and the Guard were temporarily suspended on Wednesday as they were found guilty.
Lalmonirhat Divisional Railway Mechanical Engineer Rezaul Karim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
