CHITTAGONG: A victim, who received severe burn injuries on February 11 in a petrol bomb attack in an auto-rickshaw, succumbed to his injuries at Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

The ill deceased was identified as Mohammad Idris, son of Sardar Ahmed, hailed from Cox’s Bazar district.

CMCH Burn and Plastic Surgery unit doctor Swarup confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier on February 11 night, four people, including Idris received burns injuries when miscreants hurled petrol bomb at an auto-rickshaw in Shah Mirpur area under Pekua upazila.

Around 30 percent of his body was burnt in the incident.

However, he was rushed to burn unit of Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he died after fighting for life for six days.

The deceased’s elder brother, Osman, said that Idris came under the arson attack while he was returning home from his workplace.
