DHAKA: At least two persons were injured as miscreants blasted cocktail in Shahbagh area in the capital on Tuesday evening.

The injured--Selina Akhter, 34, Mohammadpur Government Commercial High School teacher, and Abdus Salam, 35, a medical representative—were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Sources said miscreants, soon after hurling cocktail in front of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in that area, managed to flee the scene.

Selina, according to the sources, was returning from the Amar Ekushey Book Fair.

DMCH police camp In-Charge Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
