DHAKA: Customs Intelligence detained a passenger, named Mainuddin, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday for carrying 2.1kg gold illegally.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, assistant commissioner Ruhul Amin said, “Mainuddin landed here on a flight of Malaysian Airlines. On suspicion customs authority searched his luggage and found three gold bars weighing 2.1kg.”
He has been quizzed in customs custody, he added.
