Mawa-Kawrakandi ferry services resume

MUNSHIGANJ: Ferry services on Mawa-Kawrakandi river route resumed around 9:30am Friday after a nine-hour suspension due to blurred visibility caused by thick fog.

Earlier, Heavy fog forced the authorities concerned to suspend plying of all kinds of water vessels including ferry services at the waterway on the River Padma around 00:10am.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) sources said banglanews that the services resumed after visibility returns.

Seven ferries, which earlier got stuck in the middle of the river due to poor visibility, started journey to respective destination, sources added.
