NARAYANGANJ: A college student was killed in Mizmizi area of Siddhirganj upazila Friday noon allegedly on love affairs.

The deceased was identified as Rubel, 19, son of Nidu Miah of the area and a second year student at Government Adamjee Nagar MW College in Narayanganj.

Sources said Rubel had a conflict with some local young people over his relationship. He also locked into an altercation with some of them on Victory Day during celebration.

Rubel might be killed in this connection, the sources added.

Confirming the matter, Siddhirganj Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alauddin said that after recovering the body police sent it to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

However, the law enforcers have already detained three youths from the area in this connection, he added. 

The detainees are Shah Alam, Shamim and Rezaul.

Police, however, has been looking into the matter.
