DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the Divisional Commissioners of Barisal and Rangpur to take action against criminals whatever their political identity.

The premier came up with the directives after holding a meeting through video conference at secretariat on Monday.

She also talked with leaders of Barisal District Development Coordination Committee, Lalmonirhat District Development Coordination Committee through video conference.

Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, observed that some people joined the party when it comes to power.

“They actually join for committing crimes. But the ruling party and government have to take the responsibility of the crime activists,” she said.

She added: “So, legal action has to be taken against the criminals whatever his/her political identity.”
