British Council Bangladesh gets new director

DHAKA: Barbara Wickham will arrive in Bangladesh on January 1 to take up her new post as Country Director British Council Bangladesh.
 
Barbara Wickham started her professional career in 1978, when she embarked on a lifelong passion for English and education as an English as foreign language (TEFL) teacher in Cairo. 

For the next ten years she worked in overseas teaching and training, working in Spain, the UK and then China.

After gaining a master’s degree Barbara joined the British Council, serving in countries across four continents. She has also been a Country and Area Director for the British Council in China, Nepal, Venezuela, Ethiopia and Pakistan.

Barbara graduated from the Universities of Leicester (BA History) and Reading (MA in Applied Linguistics).
