JHALOKATHI: At least seven people were killed and dozens others injured as a bus plunged into roadside ditch in Bishwasbari area under Rajapur upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. 

Witnesses said a Barisal-bound passenger bus of Rupom Paribahan plunged into a roadside ditch beside Barisal-khulna highway after its driver lost control over steering in the area, leaving aforesaid casualties.

Medical officer of Rajapur Health Complex Abul Khayer Rasel confirmed the death of seven people; however police said more deaths feared as several people still trapped in the bus under water.
