KUALA LUMPUR: Two Bangladesh nationals were killed when the formwork and scaffolding for the Ampang LRT extension project worksite in Subang Jaya collapsed on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire Service officials found the bodies of the workers, both from Bangladesh, about 9.30pm and 1:00am at the site in Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru, 5-kilomitre away from Kuala Lumpur city.

The bodies of victims-- M Sumon Mollah, 30, and another unidentified youth—were sent to Serdang Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul said the incident occurred at about 4.30pm.

"There were around eight people working at the site when the incident occurred. By 7.30pm, six victims were rescued while another two were trapped in the rubble," he said. two were found dead by rescuers later.
 
Expressing grief, Ampang LRT extension project’s director said “It is a pathetic incident and will be investigated soon.  Measures will be taken immediately to compensate the deceased’s family members.”
