SAVAR (DHAKA): At least 50 readymade garment workers were injured as a staff bus carrying them, plunged into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar on Tuesday morning.

Most of the injured are workers of Kazal Garments.

The workers said that they were heading to their workplaces in the morning riding the bus. At one stage, the driver of the bus lost his control over the steering and plunged into a roadside ditch due to dense fog.

However, locals rescued the injured and sent them to hospital.

Some critically injured were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in city.

On information, police rushed to the spot.

Director of Kazal Garments Kazal Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.
