SAVAR: A fire broke out at a jhut (scrap of fabrics from garment industries) godown in Ashulia of Savar, on outskirts of Dhaka, on Friday morning.

Locals said that the fire originated at the warehouse around 8:00am and spread soon.

However, on information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame after half-an-hour efforts.

Owner of the warehouse, Abdul Malek said that the extent of loss from the fire could go up to several lakhs taka.

Fire fighters said that the fire might be originated from an electric short circuit.
