DHAKA: The government has sent a letter to the foreign ministry of United Kingdom to know whereabouts of BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman.
State minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews on Friday.
The letter, signed by foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali, has been sent to Bangladesh Embassy to London.
The embassy sources said the letter will be handed over to the British foreign minister Philip Hammond.
Shahriar Alam also told banglanews that they also sent a letter to British High Commission, Dhaka in this regard.
He said recently the High Court (HC) asked to the foreign secretary about the whereabouts of Tarique. To give a reply to HC, the ministry took the initiatives.
