25 Mohila Dal leaders, activists sued in Savar

SAVAR: Some 25 leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, women wing of BNP, were sued on charge of violence and vandalism in Savar.

The accused include Dhaka district Mohila Dal convener Sabina Yasmin and Savar Upazila Parishad Mohila Dal vice-chairman Mini Akhtar Urmi.

Savar Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Kazi filed the case Friday night.

Thana sources said that a group of pickets vandalized 8/10 vehicles on Dhaka-Aricha highway on Monday during the ongoing nationwide blockade.

Following the incident, municipality unit of Mohila Dal brought out a procession. Police then nabbed five leaders and activists of the party.

Savar Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Motaleb Mia said that a case was filed mentioning the name of Mohila Dal leader and 20/22 unnamed.

Police will continue their drives to arrest the accused, he added.
