DHAKA: A fire broke out at Shahriar Steel Mill at Konapara in the city’s Demra area on Sunday morning. Five fire fighting units doused flame after one-and-quarter hours of frantic effort.

Originated around 9:00am, the fire soon engulfed the factory. On information, five units of Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control after one and a half hours frantic effort.

FSCD control room Inspector Enayet Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Damage caused by the fire could not be estimated immediately. No casualty was reported.
