DHAKA: Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina has urged the nation to stand together against the violence created in the name of blockade and hartal.

The premier, also ruling Awami League president, also asked for assistance in handing over the people, involved in violence, to the law enforcers.

She made the plea during her visit to liberation war affairs ministry in the city on Sunday noon.

According to the PM, people, who believe in the spirit of country’s war of independence and expect Bangalis to stand strong as an independent nation as well, should be united.

She Hasina added: “We should be vocal against them, who kill people, hurl petrol bombs and attack arson.”

The attackers should be encountered wherever they are found, she added.

Regarding BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, the premier said that she (Khaleda) has called the nationwide blockade by making herself confined.

She commented that Khaleda is doing this as she has no presence in the parliament and not even the opposition.
