DHAKA: Shell-shocked BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has stopped speaking with people for the moment, said her Gulshan political office source.

Khaleda Zia’s media wing sources said she came to know the matter from her brother’s wife.

She was at her wits end after learning the news, sources added.

Watching her condition, those who were present here also forgot to console her.

Journalists also gathered at the Gulshan political office of Khaleda Zia where she has been staying since January 3.

Meanwhile, relatives and senior BNP leaders rushed to the Gulshan office of Khaleda to meet and console her.

The death also will affect Tarique Rahman, elder brother of Koko, as everyone knows the love that he had for his younger brother.

Arafat Rahman Koko, younger son of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, died at a hospital in Malaysia on Saturday.

Press secretary to the BNP chief Maruf Kamal Khan confirmed the matter in a press briefing at Chairperson’s Gulshan political office in the afternoon.

“Arafat Rahman was rushed to a hospital after he felt chest pain. On duty doctors declared him dead around 12:30pm Bangladesh time,” he told the journalists.

The body of Koko will be arrived in the country on Monday.
