NAOGAON: Two people were killed as a sand-laden truck ran over a rickshaw in Muktir Mor area in the district sadar Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as rickshaw-puller Bazlur Rahman, 35, of Hapania Bazar area of Sadar upazila and rickshaw passenger Mozaffar Hossain, 45, of Khudro Fulkur village under Shahjahanpur upazila of Bogra district.

Naogaon Sadar Model Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zakirul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police said the truck driver lost his control over the steering and crushed into a rickshaw and motorcycle in the area around 4:45pm, leaving the rickshaw-puller dead on the spot and its passenger and motorcyclist severely injured.

Later, the injured were rushed to the Sadar Hospital. But, Mozaffar succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
