CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh Navy recovered some 15 lakh pieces of Yaba tablets worth about Tk 83-crore from near No. 1 Buoy at outer-anchorage of Chittagong port early Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, the members of Navy Anti Smuggling Cell conducted a drive in a trawler in the area around 2:30am and seized the huge amount of Yaba from the trawler.

Media wing of Bangladesh Navy confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Sources said the smuggling goods entered through Teknaf Border from Myanmar to Cox’s Bazar.

The huge amount of Yaba tablets was taken to the port area in lieu to distribute across the country, the navy sources suspected.
