DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday visited Square Hospitals to express her condolence on the demise of police constable Shamim who succumbed to his burn injuries.

After reaching the hospital around 2:10pm, the premier showed her condolence to the victim’s family members.

Earlier on the day, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy-police commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman told banglanews that they came to know that Shamim succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in city’s Square Hospitals.

On January 17, blockaders hurled a petrol bomb targeting police vehicle near Matsya Bhaban in city’s Ramna area, leaving Shamim among five police members injured.

Shamim admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and later, shifted to the Square Hospital.
