KOLKATA: Inspired by Bangladeshi poet Jasimuddin’s magnum opus “Nakshi Kanthar Maath”, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers of Kolkata unveiled jewelry those depict the love of Rupai and Saju.
The Nakshi Kanthar Maath collection is aimed at reviving the heritage of Bengal through jewelry.
Popular Bangla cinema actress Payel Sarkar showcased the collection at Birla Sabhaghar of Ballygunge of Kolkata Friday.
Rupak Saha, Director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, said, “The Kantha effect has been brought alive by gold and meenakari work.”
Payel Sarkar said, “I love the fact that the pieces are so wearable.”
Price of the jewellery ranged from Rs 15,000 to 30,000.
Shyam Sundar Jewellers started its journey from Dhaka. They inaugurated their first showroom at Agartala around 40 years back. Later, they dispersed at various corners of India.
Shyam Sundar Jewellers is the only organization who makes “Heritage Jewelry” of Kolkata.
It has several showrooms in Kolkata including Rashbehari Avenue, Behala, Khowai.
Besides, they have showrooms at Agartala of Tripura, and Mumbai.
