KUSHTIA: Aminul Haque Badsha, press secretary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was laid to rest in Kushtia on Monday evening.
He was buried beside his mother’s grave in Court Station area of the district around 7:00pm.
His body reached his village at 5:40pm on the day.
There, his namaz-e-janaza was held at 6:10pm.
Earlier, his body was kept on National Press Club premises in the city till 12 noon Monday for people of all walks of life to pay their tribute.
Badsha’s elder brother Rashedul Haque Nafa, shipping minister Shahjahan Khan, National Press Club joint secretary Farida Yasmin, BFUJ general secretary Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, DUJ president Altaf Mahmud, Bangladesh Protidin editor Noem Nizam, among others, attended Badsha’s namaz-e-janaza held on the club premises.
On February 13, Badsha’s first namaz-e-janaza was held at Brick Lane Jamme Masjid in East London.
Aminul Haque Badsha, former organizing secretary of central Chhatra League, a journalist, freedom fighter and also Bangabandhu’s press secretary, breathed last at Orpington Hospital in Greater London at 5:30am on February 10.
He was 71 and survived with wife and a son and daughter.
Badsha’s body arrived in Dhaka from London on Sunday.
