Faridpur: A truck and a bus collided head-on on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Majkandi area under Sadar upazila on Sunday morning, killing both the drivers and three others.

Police said 15 passengers of the bus were also injured in the fatal accident.

Sources said a Dhaka-bound timber-laden truck rammed into a passenger bus bound for Khulna at about 7:30am, killing the truck driver and his helper both instantly.

The bus driver and two passengers succumbed to their injuries at Faridpur Medical College Hospital. One of the deceased was identified as Rabiul Islam of Jessore.

The injured were admitted to the FMCH.

Road accidents have become a regular happening across the country reportedly for rash driving by untrained drivers and lax enforcement of traffic rules.
