DHAKA: A bus helper, who sustained burn injuries in an arson attack on his vehicle at Demra Staff Quarter in the capital on February 25, lost his battle for life at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Saturday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Shakil Ahmed, 18.

Confirming the matter, DMCH resident doctor Partha Shankar Pal told banglanews that the ill-fated helper succumbed to his injuries around 3:45pm at the burn unit.

Earlier on February 25 night, Shakil along with another helper of the bus, Yasin, sustained severe burn injuries as miscreants set fire to the vehicle amid hartal and blockade called by BNP and its allies.

Later, they got admitted at DMCH.
