CHITTAGONG: Customs authorities recovered 200 gold bars worth Tk 10 crore at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Tuesday noon.
Moreover, 174 mini-cartons of lead and copper were also recovered from the airport.
Shah Amanat Airport assistant commissioner Dwaipayan Chakma told banglanews that an Air Arabia flight from Dubai landed in Chittagong at 1:10am on Monday. The gold bars were recovered from a carton of charger lights.
The bars were kept hidden inside the charger lights in place of batteries.
On information, authorities concerned conducted a drive and recovered the gold bars.
They would keep drives continue, the assistant commissioner added.
