DHAKA: A remote-controlled mobile bomb was exploded at old building of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court on Thursday afternoon.
Aminur Rahman, assistant commissioner of Police Prosecution Wing confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said the bomb was blasted on the corridor in front of Court-31 housed at ground floor of the building around 4:15pm.
Moreover, Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Bikash Kumar Shaha and senior officers of police also visited the place.
According to Aminur Rahman, a group of miscreants placed the device of ‘mobile bomb’ and blasted it through vibration by sending a phone call from a distance.
But it could not be confirmed anything until bomb explosion expert team reached the spot. The crime scene has been cordoned off, he added.
Broken mobile set, battery and device lying scattered at the scene.
However, no casualty or damage was reported from the blast as the bomb had no splinter inside.
The building is equipped with multiple CCTV cameras. It is possible to identify the culprits soon, the police official opined.
