DHAKA: Panicked boarders came out of Hotel Peninsula in Chittagong following a bomb threat issued for Tk 3 crore as 'extortion money’.

Anonymous miscreant over the phone on Monday demanded the amount of money and said otherwise bomb will blow the hotel. A time-bomb has been placed inside, he mentioned.

Hotel authority confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Soon after the bomb threat, hotel authority safely escorted the local and foreign boarders out of the hotel.

However, after a frantic search police found no bomb in the hotel and the boarders returned to their rooms in the afternoon.

Officer-in-Charge of Chakbazar Thana Atik Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.
