COX’S BAZAR: One hundred and fifty nine Bangladeshi trafficking victims returned home from Myanmar on Monday afternoon.
The meeting between a team of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-17 and Myanmar Immigration Department was held at Chambu town administrative building this morning.
After the meeting, the fortune seekers were handed over to the BGB personnel, said BGB-17 commander Lieutenant Colonel Rabiul Islam Robi on Sunday evening.
However, Myanmar navy rescued 727 migrants from their water. A total of 160 from the rescued people were handed over to the BGB after identifying them as Bangladeshis.
