LALMONIRHAT: Land records of recently dissolved 162 enclaves, which were included in Bangladesh and India, have been handed over to each other on Monday noon.
The document handover process was held between delegations of the both neighboring countries around 12:35pm at Chengrabandha land port in Cooch Behar district of India.
On behalf of Bangladesh, a 17-member team including Lalmonirhat deputy commissioner (DC) Habibur Rahman and Bangladesh deputy-high commission head-of-chancellor Anwarul Islam were present during the time while Cooch Behar district magistrate (DM) P Ulaganathan and his team represented India.
The program was initiated by Bangladesh-India joint committee.
The joint meeting of India district magistrate and Bangladesh deputy commissioner is underway at Chengrabandha land port inside India.
Date of migration of 979 people, who chose to be Indian citizens, is likely to be finalized in the joint meeting.
Alongside, of them, who will enter India through which land ports and following what process is also expected to be finalized.
