FENI: Five people sustained burn injuries when miscreants hurled petrol bomb at a fish-laden truck on Feni-Noakhali highway in Matobhuiyan area under Daganbhuiyan Upazila of the district early Friday.

The burn victims are Mohammad Yusuf, 55, driver of the truck, his helper Rabiul Islam, 15, fish trader Abul Hossain, 45, Wasim, 28, and Rokon, 24, all of them hailed from Burichang Upazila of Comilla.

The injured were whisked off to the Feni Sadar Adhunik Hospital. Later, four critically injured were shifted to Comilla Medical College Hospital

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge Abul Foysal Daganbhuiyan Thana told banglanews that the traders, riding on the truck loaded with fishes, were heading toward Basurhat of Noakhali.

The injured were admitted to the hospital with about 25 percent burn injuries, said Fayez Akber Khandaker, duty doctor of Feni Sadar Hospital.
