3500 litres snatched-Palm oil recovered

RUPGANJ, NARAYANGANJ: A total of 3500 litres oil, which was snatched from Savar, were recovered from Sonab area under Rupganj Upazila of the district on Saturday night.
 
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 members, in the drive, detained two members of mugging gang.

The detainees are Nazrul Islam, 35, son of Mozzammel Haque and Shahin, 28, son of Lokman Hossain of Sonab area.

A press release, signed by RAB-11 ASP Squad Commander Alep Uddin, confirmed the matter on Sunday noon.

According to press release, a truck loaded with palm oil was heading toward Kushta from Shabnab Oil Factory of TYarab Upazila on February 18. When it approached in front of BPSTC of Savar, a gang of muggers intercepted it and hijacked the truck along with oil.

A case was filed with Savar Thana in this connection.

Later, the truck was found empty and abandoned condition in Sonargaon Thana area.

Acting on tip off, RAB conducted a drive in Sonab area and seized 17 drums loaded with 3500 litres oil and nabbed the duo on Saturday night.
