TANGAIL: A police man was killed as the pick-up van plunged into a ditch breaking the railing of a bridge in Sanbandha area of Ghatail upazila on Monday.

The victim was identified as Rezaul Karim, 48, hailed from Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur.

Ghatail Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mokhlesur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said the pick-up van carrying Rezaul and three other police members fell into the ditch when they were patrolling the area as in the previous days, leaving Rezaul dead on the spot and SI Abdul Wahab, Nayek Mamin and Maznu injured.

The injured were taken to Tangail Medical College and Hospital and the body was kept in police station.
