PM asks officials to work attentively

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina enjoined the people concerned to work attentively in implementing the project - ‘Ektee Bari Ektee Khamar’ (EBEK) – one house one farm.

She also asked the people concerned to continue monitoring the development works of the project.

The PM made the order in an EBEK project advisors council meeting at her office in city on Sunday.

Local government, rural development and cooperatives minister Syed Ashraful Islam, agriculture minister Matia Chowdhury, environment minister Anwar Hossain Manju, planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, land minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif, sate minister for home affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, state minister for cooperatives and rural development Mashiur Rahaman Ranga, state minister for land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed, PM principal secretary Abul Kalam Azad, among others, were present at the meeting.

PM press secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury informed the media after the meeting.

Sheikh Hasina said that the incumbent government aims to reduce poverty as well as to strengthen rural economy.

We want to solvent people by implementing EBEK project, she added.

However, the project is being implemented in 40,527 villages to provide nutrition and strengthen rural economy.

According to the government, the project has reduced people’s dependency on NGOs and money lenders.
