BAGERHAT: At least five people were killed and three more injured in an accident in Boltola area under Fakirhat upazila the district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Som Das, 32, Komol Das, 45, Bonoram Das, 35, Tali Das, 47 and the driver. They also were residents of Tohagari village.

Katakhali High Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdul Mannan confirmed the matter saying a head on collision between a Dhaka-bound bus and pickup van left the casualties.

The injured were rushed to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex.
