Dhaka prepares for PM Modi

DHAKA: The government officials are taking preparation to receive India premier Narendra Modi in Dhaka.

Ministries concerned are passing busy time to complete the preparation without any flaw. Moreover, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s office is directly supervising all the preparation programs.

Earlier on Wednesday, an inter-ministerial meeting was held at foreign ministry regarding the visit of the Indian PM.

Representatives from home, commerce, shipping, power and water resources ministries attended the meeting chaired by foreign secretary Mohammad Shahidul Haque.

A preparatory meeting was also held at PMO earlier on the day. PM’s economic affairs adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman presided over the meeting, attended by secretaries and high-ups of ministries concerned.

However, Narendra Modi is expected to pay a two-day official visit to Bangladesh on June 6.

At least 10 accords and memoranda of understanding (MoU) on financial assistance, bilateral trade, river communication, coastal shipping, education, culture, development of marine resources, etc. are expected to be inked during the visit.
