DHAKA: The government will give special security to ten noted individuals including Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) AAMS Arefin Siddique and Professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Home Affairs, made the remark on Thursday, a day after a letter was sent to DU VC issuing death threat.

He said, “We are responsible for ensuring security of countrymen. We will provide special security to those noted individuals as they received death threats yesterday.”

On Wednesday, the letter, written in English, was allegedly sent by ‘Alkaida - Ansarullah Bangla Team-13’ through postal services.
