DHAKA: The customs authorities seized 7,000 mobile handsets worth Tk 20 crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Saturday two days after major mobile sets haul in the airport.

Tipped-off, a team of customs raided the freight unit of the airport around 10:30am and found the mobile handsets.

Assistant Commissioner (prevention) Shahiduzzaman Sarkar of Dhaka Customs House confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The seized cell phones were brought to the country from Hong Kong, said the commissioner.

No arrest was reported in this connection.
 
On May 28, customs authorities seized 15,000 mobile phone sets worth about Tk 45 crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
