SYLHET: Two workers were killed as a sand-laden truck plunged into roadside ditch on Sylhet-Fenchuganj road in Khilpara area on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Saiful Islam, 20, son of Abdul Jabbar and Aslam Mia, 25, son of Sorafot Mia.

Witnesses said that the driver of the Fenchuganj-bound truck lost control in the area and the workers died falling under sand.

Fenchuganj Thana OC Nandan Kanti Dhar confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The bodies were sent to Osmani Medical College for autopsy and the driver and helper were on the run, the OC added.
