DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested 21 thugs of notorious ‘aggyan party’ conducting special drives in different parts of Dhaka city.

The drives were conducted from Wednesday night to Thursday morning in Jatrabari, Shahbagh and High Court areas in the city.

A mobile court, led by executive magistrate Mashiur Rahman sentenced them to different terms of imprisonment.

DB police joint commissioner Manirul Islam made the disclosure at a press conference at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media center in city on Thursday.

He said that law enforcers are active to arrest this sort of thugs as they become active during the month of Ramadan and on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
