SAVAR, DHAKA: Police, in a drive, detained two drug peddlers along with 1 kilogram of cocaine, worth about Tk 1-crore, from Ganakbari area of Ashulia thana of Savar, on the outskirts of capital, early Monday.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ashulia Thana Mostafa Kamal said they conducted the drive in the den of drug dealer Sirajul Islam in Ganakbari area and detained him along with an aide in the morning.

Police is investigating the matter whether they have any connection with another incident of cocaine recovery form a drum at Chittagong port.
   
A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
