CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Jet F-7 crashed into the Bay of Bengal, some six miles off Patenga beach.

Pilot Tahmid remained missing till filing this report and BAF, Navy, Coast Guard conducting joint search operations in the sea.

Earlier in the day, the aircraft remained untraced after it flew from Zahurul Haque base at 11:15am Monday.

Shah Amanat Airport manager Wing Commander Nur-e-Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
